Paul Osinski
While his earliest years involved traditional instruments and a school rock band, Paul Osinski (pka Paulo Sinski) has been passionate about electronic music since 2011.
Paul's main creative project is the Paulo Sinski Microband. With drummer Hector Alonso Costa, Paul is reimagining dance music productions for the stage by using analog synths, modular gear and a sampler. Using a minimal setup the Microband aims for the sweet spot between Warp Records & noise rock. Active since November, the Microband has been busy all year, playing shows in Canada and writing new material.
Paul began his electronic music journey in Calgary 2011, where he would occasionally DJ at Habitat Living Sound, a local dance music hub. As Bleach Fiend, a more electro-house flavoured project, he released two EPs of music and showcased at NXNE, the Calgary Electronic Music Festival, and Calgary’s National Music Centre.
A desire to push the creative envelope led Paul to relocate to Toronto in 2014. While studying at Ryerson University, Paul became involved himself in music communities, on-campus and off. Between hosting open mics and working at raves, he carved out a spot for himself as a contributor to the local scene, lending a hand at parties such as It’s Not U It’s Me, Work In Progress, and Forth. Paul now works as a promoter for Deep Gold, a Toronto party series that hosts acts such as Octo Octa, Kyle Hall and Randomer.
Paul has also explored different musical pursuits, notably as the sound designer for '(XX/XY)', a choreography piece directed by colleague Clara Eaton. He has also lent a hand designing soundtracks for short films and gallery installations. While living in Calgary Paul also interned at Beat Drop, a Calgary school for DJing and music production.
